Under its contract with the City, San Diego Medical Services Enterprise's General Transport Division provides non-emergency transportation services on a competitive basis in the City and County of San Diego.

Non-emergency transportation or BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulance transportation includes:

• Inter-facility non-emergency transportation (i.e. hospital to nursing home)
• Residence to medical facility transportation
• Special Event Medical Services

Other non-emergency transportation services provided by San Diego Medical Services Enterprise include:

• Wheelchair van and shuttle services
• Nurse-based Critical Care Transport (CCT) (i.e. transportation of patient connected to medication IV or a patient who needs cardiac monitoring.)

San Diego Medical Services Enterprise's goal is to make arranging medical transportation quick and easy. The San Diego Medical Services Enterprise, L.L.C. Customer Service Center accepts phone and fax requests for medical transportation. The Customer Service Center is available 24-hours a day to arrange medical transportation, schedule multiple trips, arrange long distance transportation and answer questions on medical necessity requirements.
