Facilities Maintenance and Enhancements
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Facilities Maintenance and Enhancement
personnel are charged with keeping 46 fire stations and related facilities
in shape, including:
- Oversight of all maintenance such as fire station repairs, including oversight of maintenance contractors.
- Ensuring that all facilities meet government standards for such issues as air pollution and hazardous materials regulations.
- Providing input and oversight of construction of all new facilities.
- Participating in long-term planning of facilities construction and repair.
- Participating in long-term planning of new fire stations and related facilities.
The three civilian employees who work in Facilities Maintenance and Enhancement have backgrounds in the construction and contracting fields.
