Facilities Maintenance and Enhancements

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Facilities Maintenance and Enhancement personnel are charged with keeping 46 fire stations and related facilities in shape, including:

  1. Oversight of all maintenance such as fire station repairs, including oversight of maintenance contractors.
  2. Ensuring that all facilities meet government standards for such issues as air pollution and hazardous materials regulations.
  3. Providing input and oversight of construction of all new facilities.
  4. Participating in long-term planning of facilities construction and repair.
  5. Participating in long-term planning of new fire stations and related facilities.

The three civilian employees who work in Facilities Maintenance and Enhancement have backgrounds in the construction and contracting fields.
