Repair Facility

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Repair Facility is responsible for the repair and maintenance of more than 230 vehicles in the department's fleet from automobiles to Class 8 heavy trucks. (See Apparatus).

The fleet consists of:

  • Seagraves
  • Emergency One
  • Pierce
  • Quality
  • Saulsbury Pumpers

The ladder trucks are a mixture of service aerials, aerial platforms and tractor trailers - Seasgraves, LTI, Pierreville, Quality and Saulsbury.

In addition to the normal emergency response units, the Repair Facility provides maintenance and repair on Airport Crash apparatus that are the Oshkoch P-19 and Oshkosh T-3000 models.

Staffing of the Repair Facility include:

  • Fifteen mechanics
  • Two service technicians
  • One service writer
  • and Clerical Support

The Repair Facility also staffs a fleet of five mobile units which allows routine or minor repairs in remote locations.
