Regional Public Safety Training Institute
The Training and Safety Division is the caretaker for the developing
the San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute (RPSTI). The Regional
Public Safety Training Institute is located on Camp
Nimitz near downtown San Diego and is a joint venture of regional
law enforcement and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The Regional Public Safety Training Institute has:
- A wide selection of classrooms
- A propane powered interior fire simulator
- Dormitory housing and plentiful parking
The Institute is conveniently located immediately adjacent to San Diego International Airport.
The Regional Public Safety Training Institute is the host site for military, federal,
state and local training classes and events, including the following organizations:
U.S. Navy SEALS
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
U.S. Customs and Border Protection
California Highway Patrol
Various law enforcement K-9 and SWAT teams
California Office of Emergency Services (OES)
National Fire Academy off-campus classes
Professional development training and seminar providers
Private maritime fire training companies
Looking for a training or meeting site?
The Regional Public Safety Training Institute's facilities are available for rent to
both public and private organizations meeting specific requirements.
