System Status Controller

While personnel from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department have the job of answering 9-1-1 fire and medical calls and dispatching fire engines. It is the job of the System Status Controller to dispatch and monitor all ambulances. The job of System Status Controller is a challenging one which demands concentration. System Status Controllers, working in the same room as San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Call Takers and Dispatchers, oversee the dispatching and deployment of all ambulances in the City of San Diego. When City San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Call Takers receive an emergency call which requires an ambulance, it is the job of the System Status Controller to get the ambulance rolling. Utilizing the latest in computer mapping technology, System Status Controllers monitor the placement of ambulances throughout the City. When an ambulance is called to one location, the System Status Controller moves another ambulance in to ensure the area remains covered.
