Disaster Preparedness
The region and climate of San Diego make the City susceptible to earthquakes,
wildfires and flooding which might result in the interruption of critical services
such as power, water and communications. Citizens can minimize the impact of service interruptions
by storing enough supplies to be self sufficient for three to five days without services.
Also available is a community based program called
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
which helps citizens become a part of the solution in their own communities.
