CERT San Diego Volunteers
After graduation from the CERT academy, new volunteers are provided with information on the team in their local area. It is through connecting with local teams that new academy graduates are able to achieve the next level of training that will qualify them for their Disaster Service Worker (DSW) card. Team meetings, continuing education opportunities, and refreshers are part of that DSW qualification and recertification process for new graduates and veteran members alike.
CERT San Diego helps communities build a base of emergency preparedness that communities can count
on when the need arises. Our training fosters the spirit of neighbor-to-neighbor volunteer support
and brings communities together for a common cause. It increases partnership between communities,
volunteers, City officials and the San Diego Fire-Rescue department in times of need.
If you do not live or work in the City of San Diego, there are other CERT programs in San Diego
county in cities such as El Cajon, Chula Vista, Del Mar and Oceanside. Visit County
of San Diego CERT Contacts to find your local CERT program. |
