Bulletins and Guidelines
The following bulletins and guidelines provide information related to large family daycare,
inspections, and Special Event guidelines.
Large Family Day-Care (PDF: 39K) A large family daycare is a
facility licensed by Community Care Licensing in which care is provided for nine to fourteen children
in a home. Use of this checklist will facilitate obtaining a fire clearance once the Fire-Rescue Department
receives the "Fire Safety Inspection Request" from the State Fire Marshal.
Quick Reference Guide (PDF: 66K) This guide covers the most
common violations found in those buildings inspected by the Fire Company Inspection Program.
It should be used as a checklist to maintain a building in a safe condition.
The guide applies to places of public assembly (Assembly occupancy), schools and non-residential
daycare (Educational occupancy), nursing homes, hospitals and other institutional facilities
(Institutional occupancy) and multi-unit residential buildings and residential care facilities
(Residential occupancy).
Special Events Guidelines (PDF: 9K) This document should be
referenced to determine whether a permit is required for a special event and to obtain information
