Environmental Response Team (ERT)

The Environmental Response Team (ERT) Rig is an International S 1600 with a crew of two HazMat technicians. ERT crews respond to small HazMat incidents within the City of San Diego, such as, abandoned waste oil, paints and car batteries. The ERT Rig and personnel work in conjunction with both HazMat 1 & 2 Rigs and crews in mitigating HazMat incidents. The ERT Rig is licensed and capable of transporting many hazardous materials and is equipped with state-of-the-art HazMat detection tests and monitoring equipment allowing positive and rapid identification of most hazardous materials. The Environmental Response Team is housed at Fire Station 44.
