Melinda Nickelberry, Fiscal & Policy Analyst
Melinda joined the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst (IBA) in August of 2009. She is the IBA's representative to the Public Safety & Neighborhood Services Committee. She provides analysis on issues pertaining to the City's Police and Fire & Rescue departments, and Special Promotions. She is also the lead for General Fund revenue analysis and forecasting.
Before her position with the City of San Diego, Melinda worked as a Revenue & Budget Analyst for the City of Long Beach Financial Management Department, Budget and Performance Management Bureau. There she served as the lead analyst for all General Fund revenue reporting and forecasts, and supported budget development and administration. Before her service with the City of Long Beach, Melinda worked in both the non-profit and private sectors. This included her position as a Business Analyst for a management consulting firm, where she consulted with business clients in various industries in the areas of strategic planning, business development, and market analysis.
Melinda has a Bachelor degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Public Policy, from Stanford University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California's School of Policy, Planning, and Development.
