Introduction to Ocean Awareness
This summer, San Diego Junior Lifeguards will be offering an introduction to ocean awareness class for 7 and 8 year olds. The class will focus on ocean safety, open water swimming techniques, and other ocean activities.
Class Information
Class Dates:
Session One: July 15 thru July 19, 2013 (Monday — Friday)
Session Two: August 19 thru August 23, 2013 (Monday — Friday)
Morning (AM) Class Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon (PM) Class Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $175 + Registration Fees
Registration: Online registration begins Monday, March 25th at 8:00 a.m.
Tryouts
After registration, new JGrommet students will be required to complete a 50 yard swim in a swimming pool (no time limit) in order to be accepted into the Program.
Uniform
JGrommet students are not required to purchase a uniform for the class. However, we do ask that all students wear appropriate swim gear and sun protection. Students will be issued a rash guard for use during the class. Issued rash guards must be turned in at the end of the week. If desired, SDJG uniform items can be purchased.
