The San Diego Junior Lifeguard Program prides itself on providing opportunities to all qualified students. If cost is a challenge, the program does offer a limited number of full scholarships. Scholarships are available for one session per child. Scholarship applicants must complete a scholarship application, provide proof of City of San Diego residency, and income documentation. Please see the Scholarship Application provided on this page for additional information.
Scholarship applicants do not have to register through our online registration system. Instead, once your scholarship application is received and approved, you will be assigned a session based on the date and time your packet was received by our Lifeguard Services office. Our staff will contact you regarding registration procedures when your child(ren) is approved for a scholarship. Our staff will also contact you if your application is declined. When submitting your application, please make sure it is complete with all required documentation
The scholarship application period begins Monday, April 15, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. and ends April 30, 2013 at 12 p.m. Scholarship application packets will not be accepted before April 15 or after April 30, no exceptions.
You can either mail or drop off your scholarship application packet to the following address during the application period only.

To ensure that we receive your application, we recommend that you drop off your completed scholarship application packet in person. Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
DO NOT FAX YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PACKET. We will not be accepting applications via fax.
