A New Regional StadiumMayor Sanders recognizes that having a professional football team in our region is good for San Diego's civic pride and quality of life. He has been working with the Chargers and other civic leaders to build a multi-use stadium in downtown San Diego that would serve as the anchor of a sprawling sports and entertainment district. At Sanders' initiative, the city has hired New York-based Lazard Ltd., an international financial advisory firm, to craft a financing plan for the project. The plan is to be completed in the fall of 2012. |
