Kris Michell is the Chief of Staff for Mayor Jerry Sanders. She oversees all policy and intergovernmental relations, communications strategy, and council liaison functions for the Mayor as well as boards and commissions. Michell comes to the City from the Sickels Group, where she served as Vice President responsible for risk management, and government approval and entitlements for key projects. Prior to that she was Vice President at Marsh Risk and Insurance Services, and was Vice President of Government Relations for the San Diego Padres Baseball Club. Michell served as former Mayor Susan Golding's Chief of Staff from 1994 to 1998. She has a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University.
