Industrial User Permits
IV. Other Industrial User Permits
Facilities that generate and dispose of process-related wastewater, not exceeding local discharge limitations, are required to apply for an industrial user discharge permit. Such facilities include, but are not limited to: R&D and chemical/biological analytical or test laboratories; car washes; facilities that perform engine steam cleaning or wet cleaning of metal parts; hospitals; boat and ship yards. Dischargers should call the program at (858) 654-4100 with details of their operation to obtain site-specific information about permit applicability, requirements, and a Non SIU Application (PDF).
