Imminent Health and Safety Hazards and Environmental Protection
  • Disturbance of coastal bluffs
  • Disturbance of historical and archaeological resources
  • Illegal grading of Environmentally Sensitive Lands
  • Inadequate barriers for swimming pools/spas
  • Leaking sewage
  • Live, exposed electrical wires
  • Uninhabitable living conditions
  • Unstable structures and signs

Priority II

Serious Code Violations
  • Building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical violations
  • Disabled access
  • Encroachments in the public right-of-way that are hazardous or block visibility
  • Inflammatory graffiti
  • Non-permitted demolition
  • Non-permitted grading
  • Overheight fences or walls that are hazardous or block visibility
  • Substandard housing conditions
  • Abandon Properties/Vacant Unsecured Structures

Priority III

Significant Code Violations and/or Conditions Adversely Impacting Quality of Life

No Code Compliance Action
  • Pursuant to the Governorís Executive Order B-29-15 regarding severe drought, enforcement action against a permit holderís failure to irrigate ornamental turf on street medians is temporarily suspended. All trees within street medians should continue to be irrigated.

  • Aircraft noise
    • Miramar Airbase: Concerns about noise emanating from military aircrafts can be addressed with the Noise Complaint Office on the base at (858) 577-4277.
    • Non-military aircrafts: Concerns about noise from helicopters using Hwy 5 flight path can be addressed with the Flight Standards District Office of the FAA. You may contact them at (619) 557-5281.
