Alcoholic Beverage on Billboards
There are restrictions for billboards that advertise alcohol-related products located within 500 feet from child care centers, libraries, playgrounds, recreation centers, or schools; or billboards that are more than 500 feet and the billboard face and its advertisement is clearly visible from where children commonly congregate at a child care center, library, playground, recreation center, or school. The City of San Diego and local billboard advertising companies have entered into an agreement to honor these restrictions and to annually review billboards that may be affected by these restrictions. Child Care Center - Must have continuous enrollment of no fewer
than 25 children and be clearly identified on the outside of the facility
as a childcare center. Billboards that are restricted from the advertisement of alcoholic beverages are marked with yellow "child symbols" on either the left or right lower corner of the billboards (depending on the direction they are facing). If you find one of these billboards to be in possible violation and wish to report it, you may use the form provided below. The report form contains detailed instructions that will guide you through the submission process.
