Educational District

Photo of Building 49 Educational uses are proposed on central portions of NTC where the Navy conducted training classes and where Navy structures lend themselves to adaptive reuse for educational purposes. This District will reflect the history of education that occurred at NTC while the base operated as a boot camp.

Currently, High Tech High is located within the Educational District. This public charter school is in its third year and offers courses in telecommunications, biotech, computer software, biomedical and electronics. High Tech High had its first graduating class in June 2003.

With approximately 500,000 square feet of space being rehabilitated for reuse, additional educational institutions will have an opportunity to locate at NTC.
