Hotels

Two hotels sites were identified for development at NTC. On the west side of the boat channel, the 150-room Hilton Homewood Suites opened in September 2007, and the 200-room Courtyard by Marriott opened in May 2009. A hotel with up to 650 rooms is proposed on the east side near the San Diego International Airport. The waterfront location, visibility, and ease of access to the airport make these sites ideal for hotel use. The hotels add to the needed hotel room stock, which contributes to the success of the San Diego Convention Center.
