• The state's California Economic Diversity and Revitalization web site has a "Military and Base Reuse" section that includes information on NTC and other issues regarding military base closures, especially bases in California.
  
  
• In February 2001, the San Diego Unified Port District was conveyed 51 acres of NTC for airport expansion. The Port worked with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to relocate the California least tern nesting site to the Multiple Species Conservation Program area in the South Bay.
