Master Developer

On August 1, 1998, the City released a request for qualifications for a master developer/partner for NTC. Subsequently, five development teams responded. On May 22, 1999, the Redevelopment Agency selected the Corky McMillin Cos. as the master developer and entered into an exclusive negotiation agreement with the firm. A Disposition and Development Agreement was negotiated over a one-year period and was approved by the Redevelopment Agency in June 2000. The agreement is the legal document that establishes the terms and conditions for the City, the Redevelopment Agency and McMillin Companies to redevelop NTC.

Substantial redevelopment is planned to occur over the next ten years involving both new construction and rehabilitation of many existing buildings. The NTC illustrative plan map provides an overview of the proposed land use at NTC.
