Fall Semester

• Registration Week: September 21 - September 27, 2009
  Classes: September 28 - December 20, 2009
  No classes on City Holidays
  No classes on Saturday, October 3rd - all students are encouraged to attend a free day of dance in Balboa Park at the Dance Fair!

Spring Semester

• Registration Week: January 4 - January 10, 2010
  Classes: January 11 - May 23, 2010
  Priority given to continuing students for enrollment & recitals in these ongoing classes.

Summer Semester

• Registration Week: June 21 - June 27, 2010
  Classes: June 28 - September 5, 2010
  No classes on City Holidays

Dress Code

Leotard and tights or dance pants/shorts. Hair tied back and out of the eyes.

Cost

$48.00 per semester (unless indicated otherwise)
Checks payable to: City Treasurer
Each class meets once a week for 45 minutes (unless indicated otherwise)
Low income fee waiver forms are available from the teacher or at civicdancearts.org, click "Financial Aid".
Classes listed are beginning levels with more advanced classes at the locations with a * (by teacher promotion only). We are working on adding these to the website. Please call 619-235-5255 for more information on these classes.

Registration

Go to the Recreation Center on the DAY of the week and the TIME listed for your selected classes. The teacher will give you further information, and will register you there. Download and fill out the class registration form and release of liability (PDF: 736KB) and bring along with payment to registration. If you are unable to download, the teacher will have copies on site that you can fill out. Many classes fill up, plan on attending registration day (or sending a friend with your payment and paperwork) to ensure your spot in the class.

• Most locations have multiple levels of instruction, open only by teacher promotion, therefore you must REGISTER WITH THE TEACHER.
• Classes listed are beginning levels, with more advanced levels at many centers by teachers promotion and audition.
• NO REFUNDS are made unless the class location has been cancelled.
• The classes listed are subject to cancellation when enrollment minimums are not met and based on budgetary constraints.
• No classes: All City holidays, November 23 to 29, December 21 to January 3 (Winter Break), March 29 - April 11 (Spring Break)
• Please be advised that parents will not be allowed in the dance room to watch classes as it is disruptive to the students dancing. Parents may watch the last 5 minutes of class only.

• Tap Dance: Adults, 18 years and over
• Mid-day Refresher: Adults, 18 years and over
• Hawaiian Dance: Adults, 18 years and over
• Ballet: Adults, 15 years and over
• Ballet: 8 to 17 years
• Ballet: 7 to 15 years
• Ballet: 7 to 12 years
• Hip Hop: 7 to 15 years
• Hip Hop: 6 to 17 years
• Teen Tap Dance: 11 to 17 years
• Tap Dance: 6 to 17 years
• Tap Dance: 4 and 5 years (Age must be VERIFIED)
• Teen Jazz Dance: 11 to 17 years
• Jazz Dance: 6 to 17 years
• Parent/Child: 6 to 17 years (Enjoy a class with your child)
• Modern Dance: 12 years and over
• Musical Theatre
• Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet: 3 to 6 years
