Specialized Programs

Adaptive Aquatics

The City is committed to offering recreational activities for children and adults with and without disabilities. In partnership with the San Diego Unified School District, the Adaptive Aquatics Program allows participants with any disability to experience the therapeutic benefits of aquatic recreation. Participation in this program provides students with a variety of aquatic opportunities while fostering positive social interaction with peers in a fun and safe environment. This program is designed to build self-esteem and physical fitness; participants develop an appreciation for the other's diversity as well as sensitivity to everyone's special needs. For more information, E-mail My Park or contact your local Pool Manager.
