Outdoor basketball courts, a children's play area, picnic tables near BBQ grills and a community building for meetings and classes.

What's Coming

Soccer

  • The S.P.O.R.T.S Committee invites you to sign up for Soccer (March 22 through June 5, 2010)
  • Boys and Girls, Divisions: 8 to 10, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, and 15 to 16 years old.
  • Specific game dates and times are to be determined.
  • Sign ups will start March 22, 2010.
  • Cost is only $10.00 per child.
  • Age verification (birth certificate, ID with birthdate , or any other type of non handwritten verification of age) and a signed parent/guardian permission slip are also required.

History of the Center

The center was built in 1972 and serves the recreational and leisure needs of children and adults living in the densely populated area of Azalea Park in City Heights.


Directions and Bus Route

From Interstate 805 North take the Home Ave. exit and turn left.  Turn left on Fairmount Ave. Turn left on Poplar St. which will curve into Violet St. Remain on Violet until you see the center ahead.

From Interstate 805 South take the Home Ave. exit and turn right. Turn left on Fairmount Ave. Turn left on Poplar St. which will curve into Violet St. Remain on Violet until you see the center ahead.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 13 & 965.

Azalea Recreation Council meets the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Azalea Recreation Center.
