Balboa Park Activity Center Fitness and Activity Classes
Every Sunday beginning October 1, 2011

“Fitness for Fun!”
The fitness class is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for all ages: beginners, advanced, and seniors all welcome! Class will incorporate light-to-moderate cardio, light-moderate strength training, pilates, and yoga.
Fee: $2.00 per class

Knitting & Crochet
Beginning to intermediate knitting and crochet lessons. Bring your yarn, hook, and needles. For all ages, and no experience required. 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Fee: $2.00 per class

Arts and Crafts
For children up to 12 years old and parents. The class is from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. All materials will be provided.
Fee: $2.00 per class

Youth Volleyball Clinic
Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., for ages 11 to 16. This FREE clinic will focus on the fundamentals of passing, serving, hitting and footwork. Knee pads are required.

Table Tennis Lessons from Stellangie
Stellan Bengtsson is the 3 time World Champion, has 67 international championships, Angie Bengtsson is the 10 time U.S. Champion, holds 4 Hall of Fame Titles. They offer private lessons.
Stellan $80 for one hour private lesson
Angie $50 for one hour private lesson

Table Tennis Lessons by Borko
$150 singles (for 4 weeks, 8 classes), Mondays and Fridays, ages 5 years and older. Contact the instructor to schedule the lessons. Borko (619) 962-1956.

The Balboa Park Activity Center (BPAC) is a multi-purpose gymnasium built to accommodate badminton, table tennis, volleyball and other events, including regional, state and national tournaments. The Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair and a variety of tournaments for people with disabilities are also held at the Balboa Park Activity Center. Basketball is available at the Municipal Gymnasium in Balboa Park.

History of the Center
The 38,000 square-foot activity center represents the first new large construction in Balboa Park since the 1960's. The activity center joins a family of Balboa Park structures built for world expositions in 1915 and 1935. Beautiful landscaping, public art and spacious outdoor plazas at the north and south end of the building provide excellent locations for picnics, public gatherings and special events.

The Activity Center is on the right at the corner of Park Boulevard and Inspiration Point Way.

From Interstate 8, take Highway 163 South. From 163 South, take the Park Boulevard exit and make a left onto Park Boulevard.

From Interstate 5 South, take the 10th Avenue exit to "A" Street. Turn left onto "A" Street, then turn left onto 12th Avenue. 12th Avenue becomes Park Boulevard.

From Interstate 5 North, take the "B" Street exit. Turn left onto "B" Street, then turn right onto 12th Avenue. 12th Avenue becomes Park Boulevard.

From Highway 94 West, take the 25th Street exit. Turn right onto 25th Street. Turn left onto "B" Street, then turn right onto 12th Avenue. 12th Avenue becomes Park Boulevard.

Parking for the Activity Center is located in the large old Naval Hospital Parking Lot which may be accessed from Inspiration Point Way off of Park Blvd. Parking Is Free.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS route 7.
