Open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day of the year, including holidays.

Features of the Skate Park

The Carmel Valley Skate Park opened on November 22, 2008. The park is a 13,500 square foot facility with a challenge course and cast in place concrete bowl. It also includes urban elements such as railings, stairs, banks and ledges. The park is equipped with night lighting allowing for it to stay open after the sun goes down. There are restrooms, a shade structure and sitting/observation areas as well.


History of the Skate Park

The project design started in January 2007 with input from the Carmel Valley community members, including several skate board professionals.  Construction started in March of 2008 with the grand opening in November 2008 and was funded via the Carmel Valley Facilities Benefit Assessment (FBA).


Directions and Bus Route

From Interstate 5 South exit on Del Mar Heights Road. Turn left and travel east to El Camino Real where there is a traffic light. Turn right on El Camino Real. At the intersection of Elija Ct. turn right into the parking lot.

From Interstate 5 North take the Carmel Valley Road exit. Turn right at the end of the exit and travel to El Camino Real. Turn left on El Camino Real. At the intersection with Elija Ct. turn left into the parking lot.

The skate park is accessible by bus via SDMTS  route 89 (weekdays only).

Know the Rules!

•  Parent or legal guardian must accompany children under 12 years
•  Only roller skates, inline skates and skate boards are allowed; no scooters, bicycles and any motorized vehicles are allowed
•  Skaters must be in full safety equipment to enter: Helmets, Elbow and Knee Pads designed for skateboarding
•  Visitors/Spectators not skating are required to remain outside fenced area
•  No smoking, alcohol, food or drink, or glass containers allowed inside the skate park
•  Littering and graffiti are not permitted
•  Unauthorized ramps, jumps or obstacles cannot be used inside or outside the skate park area
•  Animals are not permitted in the skate park
