History of the Center
Hourglass Park and Field House is a Joint Use Facility with the City of San Diego, Park and Recreation Department and the San Diego Community College District, at Miramar Community College. Hourglass Park was dedicated and opened to the public in 1990 with four lighted softball fields and several multi-use fields, tot lot and picnic area. Ned Baumer Aquatic Center came next and opened in 1999 - 2000. To add to the community's recreation needs, a state of the art facility, “The Field House” opened in June of 2009, with a large gymnasium, gymnastics room, meeting rooms, multi-purpose room and a dance studio.

From Interstate 15 exit Carroll Canyon Road and travel west to end. Turn right on Black Mountain Rd. and travel approximately 0.4 miles. Turn right down the drive to The Field House.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 20, 31, 210, 921 & 964.

Mira Mesa Recreation Council
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the Lopez Ridge Recreation Center, located at 7245 Calle Cristobal.
