Facilities

25 tennis courts, a swimming pool, a senior center, a tiny tots play area, group picnic areas, an archery range, a multi purpose ball field, a velodrome (bicycle track), boccie courts, a disc golf course, a fitness parcourse, petanque courts, Balboa Park’s Municipal Golf Course, native trails located in Florida Canyon, Golden Hill Recreation Center and Golden Hill Park

Spring Egg Hunt - Saturday, April 3, 2010, 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
Egg Hunt Schedule:
Time Ages
10:15 am 0 to 2
10:45 am 3 to 5
11:15 am 6 to 8
11:45 am 9 to 12
12:15 am 13 and older
Come join us at Morley Field on the grass area for our annual egg hunt, arts and crafts and refreshments. Bring your own basket!

Youth Soccer League: age divisions 5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds, 11-12 year olds. All practices will be held at Morley Field on Monday and Tuesday nights; all games will be held on Thursday nights for 5-7 year olds and 8-10 year olds and 11-12 year olds will have games on Friday nights; all games will be played at Golden Hills Recreation Center, 26000 Golf Course Drive, (619) 235-1138.
Registration fee $20.00 includes jersey, participation trophy and banquet.
Registration period: March 22 through April 7, 2010.

Soccer season is from April 8 through May 28, 2010


History of the Center

Morley Field was named after John Morley who served as a park superintendent in Balboa Park from 1911 to 1939.  His guidance and inspiration for the cultivation of the park made for many of the beautiful gardens that are in the park today.

Morely Field is located at the corner of Texas and Upas Streets, in the northeast section of Balboa Park. From Interstate 8 take the Texas Street exit and proceed past Upas Street. This will take you directly into the Morley Field Sports Complex. 

Morley Field is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 2, 7, 10 & 966.

Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every even month at the Balboa Park Activitiy Center.
