Recreation Center Hours
Monday & Wednesday:
Noon to 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday:
Noon to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
*Times are subject to change

Facilities
Indoor and outdoor basketball courts, lighted softball field and passive parks.  Ocean Beach Park and Bob Kenny Field.  The following parks and athletic areas can be reserved by calling the center: Dana School Fields, Bill Cleator Fields, Plumosa Park Dusty Rhodes Park and Collier Park.

The Ocean Beach Recreation Center offers Youth/Adult Self Defense classes, Gymnastics/Tumbling Classes, Ballet Classes, a Tiny Tots “Art in the Park” program, Youth City Dance Classes, Youth Soccer Leagues, Youth Flag-Football Leagues, as well as Adult Pottery/Sculpture Classes, Adult Coed Dodgeball Leagues, Adult Coed Kickball Leagues, Women’s Softball Leagues, & Men’s 16” Softball Leagues. Adult Sports Leagues - Take a look at our program guide for exciting new Adult Leagues starting soon. Ocean Beach Recreation Center has Adult Coed Dodgeball Leagues, Adult Coed Kickball Leagues, Women’s Softball Leagues, & Men’s 16” Softball Leagues.

Don’t forget about our ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL on October 24th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Attention: We are looking for Teams for our Men’s 16” softball league. If you are interested, please call the Ocean Beach Recreation Center at 619-531-1527. A new season will begin in January. Games are played on Tuesday nights at Bob Kenny field on the corner of Newport and Ebers.


History of the Center

Dedicated in 1950, the center is one of the oldest in the City with 59 years of history hosting the annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 8 West take the Sunset Cliffs Blvd. exit to Santa Monica and turn left. The center is on the left, across from the elementary school.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 35 & 923.
