What's Coming

YOUTH SOCCER

Fun developmental soccer league with games played against teams from neighboring City of San Diego Recreation Centers. Players will learn the fundamentals of ball control, dribbling, headers, passing, shooting and goalkeeping. We are accepting registrations now for boys and girls ages 8 to 16 years.
Season starts March 21 and ends June 13, 2015
Cost is $10 for the season, with no uniform fees.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL

Get ready to bump, set spike in this fun developmental volleyball league with games played against teams from neighboring City of San Diego Recreation Centers. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of volleyball. Transportation is not provided for away games. Children may not participate in club or other volleyball programs during the season
For boys and girls ages 10 to 16 years
Cost is $15 for the season, with no uniform fees.

FEATURED NEW CLASS YOUTH BADMINTON

Participants will learn fundamentals of single and doubles play. Shuttles and racquets are available from staff to check out.
Class is Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
This class is $7 for the spring (3 months).

Parks Fit

The Parks Fit San Diego Challenge is to walk/run 30 miles or swim 20 miles in 30 days between June 20th and August 20th.

Each participant receives a Parks Fit San Diego bracelet. Those who complete the challenge receive a commemorative "I Got Fit in my Park in 30 Days" T-shirt.

Then compete in the finale at NTC Park at Liberty Station on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

The BookNook program is a "take a book, leave a book" gathering place at your favorite recreation center. Share your favorite literature and stories with others.

History of the Center

The center was built in 1993 and serves the recreational and leisure needs of children and adults living in the San Ysidro area. The park grounds were donated to the City of San Diego in 1975 by the Larsen family.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 5 South take the Via De San Ysidro Boulevard, the turn right on Via De San Ysidro. Turn left on Calle Primero and then right on Sycamore Road. The center is at the end of the street.

The Center is accessible by bus via SDMTS route 905 (weekdays only).
