FREE SPRING LUNCH PROGRAM
Free Spring Lunch will be offered to children 18 years and younger Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. starting March 30 through April 24. Free snacks will be offered from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This program is offered in partnership with the San Diego Unified School District, and received an Award of Excellence from the California Parks and Recreation Society.

Fern Street After School Skill Program Carnival
Learn skills of juggling, tumbling and clowning for all ages with a special group for the very young. Cultural exchanges with guest artists. Performance skills and stage technologies. Public shows with circus professionals from Fern Street Circus.

History of the Center
The center is part of the "City Heights Revitalization Plan" and replaced the Highland Park facility that was there for years. The center which opened in 1998 is the recreation component of the "Urban Village" which includes a library, a performance annex, Head Start Program, a community college, gymnasium, and police station.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 8 take the Mission Gorge/Fairmont Exit and travel south on Fairmont. Turn left on University Avenue, right on Fairmont, then left on Landis. The center is on the left.
From Interstate 805 or Interstate 15 take the University Ave. exit and go east. Turn right on Fairmont and left on Landis.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 7, 10 and 13.
