Starting with the Nature Camp July 17th, 2015, and session II through IV August 3rd, ending August 28th, 2015.

Visit SDRecConnect (link) to conveniently browse a variety of activities offered by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department and Recreation Councils. Itís as easy as One, Two, and Three. Sign up for an account, find a class or activity, and register!

If you are registering a child for an activity, please do not use the childís information when completing a New Account. Adding family members after successfully creating an account can be completed later.

Please note: An email which includes a confirmation message with a special first-time activation link will be sent after signing up a new primary account. It is possible the email may go to your junk or spam folder. You will not be able to use your new account until you've used this special link!

Parks Fit

The Parks Fit San Diego Challenge is to walk or run 30 miles between June 20th and August 20th. Track your mileage and receive a free "I got fit in my park" t-shirt if you complete the 30 miles by the August 20th deadline. Then compete in the finale at NTC/Liberty station park Saturday, August 22, 2015.

BookNook

The BookNook program is a "take a book, leave a book" gathering place where you can share your favorite literature and stories.

History of the Center

The center is part of the "City Heights Revitalization Plan" and replaced the Highland Park facility that was there for years. The center which opened in 1998 is the recreation component of the "Urban Village" which includes a library, a performance annex, Head Start Program, a community college, gymnasium, and police station.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 8 take the Mission Gorge/Fairmont Exit and travel south on Fairmont. Turn left on University Avenue, right on Fairmont, then left on Landis. The center is on the left.

From Interstate 805 or Interstate 15 take the University Ave. exit and go east.  Turn right on Fairmont and left on Landis.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 7, 10 and 13.
