Free Summer Lunch Programs / Almuerzos Gratuitos Para Niños Durante el Verano

The City of San Diego is particpating in two free healthy eating programs during the Summer of 2013. One is the “Summer Fun Café” (PDF), and the other is the “Free Summer Lunch Program” (PDF). Programs vary by location; check both flyers to find your location's dates and times. Both programs have special family Barbeque days with valuable support service information, so be sure to check the flyers for details!

La ciudad de San Diego está participando en dos programas de alimentación saludable libre durante el verano de 2013. Uno es el "Summer Fun Café" (PDF), y el otro es el "Programa de Almuerzo de Verano gratuito" (PDF). Los programas varían según la ubicación; fijase los dos folletos para encontrar las fechas y horas de su ubicación. History of the Center

The center is part of the "City Heights Revitalization Plan" and replaced the Highland Park facility that was there for years. The center which opened in 1998 is the recreation component of the "Urban Village" which includes a library, a performance annex, Head Start Program, a community college, gymnasium, and police station.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 8 take the Mission Gorge/Fairmont Exit and travel south on Fairmont. Turn left on University Avenue, right on Fairmont, then left on Landis. The center is on the left.

From Interstate 805 or Interstate 15 take the University Ave. exit and go east.  Turn right on Fairmont and left on Landis.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 7, 10 and 13.
