Please join us in celebrating a century of community service and recreation at our Centennial Celebration. We will have guest speakers and activities that will include a petting zoo, bounce houses, ponies, magicians, live music, arts and crafts and strollers in period costume as well as free hot dogs, salads, beverages, and desserts for everyone.

Starting Monday, June 1, 2015, La Jolla Recreation Center will be opening
Monday: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday: Wednesday and Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Movies in the Park

The Parks Fit San Diego Challenge is to walk or run 30 miles between June 20th and August 20th. Track your mileage and receive a free "I got fit in my park" t-shirt if you complete the 30 miles by the August 20th deadline. Then compete in the finale at NTC/Liberty station park Saturday, August 22, 2015.
The BookNook program is a "take a book, leave a book" gathering place where you can share your favorite literature and stories.
La Jolla Recreation Center provides a variety of classes and activities like Tae Chun Do, Gymnastics, Yoga, Tai Chi, Adult Fitness classes, weight room facilities, tennis, 2 outdoor basketball courts, and 3 playground areas for people of all ages and abilities. History of the Center
The Center was built in 1915 by Ellen Browning-Scripps whose residence was next door. It was dedicated that same year to the City of San Diego for the children of La Jolla. Today the Center is considered a historical site in San Diego.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 5 North, exit La Jolla Parkway. (La Jolla Parkway becomes Torrey Pines Road.) Turn right on Prospect and go through downtown La Jolla. The center is on the left next to the Bishop's School.
From Interstate 5 South, exit La Jolla Village Drive and travel west to Torrey Pines Road. Turn left on Torrey Pines Road then right on Prospect Street.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS route 30.
