Toys for Tots
Register for the Toys for Tots program starting October 1 through November 7, 2014 (See Flyer below)
Cost: Free
Registration: Monday -Wednesday: 3:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa!
Come and enjoy a continental style breakfast, arts and crafts, enjoy holiday music and take a picture with Santa!

2nd Annual Turkey "Basketball Free Throw" Shoot
Participants will compete against in 3 rounds of free throw basketball shooting. Winners go home with prizes including a Turkey Dinner and other delectables. (See Flyer)

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Ages: 5 yrs to 14 yrs
Cost: Free (Participation is limited to the first 20 participants per age division)

Coed Youth Sports Fitness Class
This coed youth fitness class will teach various fundamental techniques, drills, and strategies, utilized in various sports (Baseball, Football, Soccer, Track & Field).
Season 2 Starts: Monday October 27, 2014 to Ends: Wednesday November 19, 2014 Class Size (At least 5 but less than 13)
Cost: $10.00 (Per 8 week session)
Time: 5:00 to 6:00p.m

All players need to provide a birth certificate and a signed liability form before participation.

History of the Center

Built for the 1935 Exposition as the "Palace of Electricity and Varied Industries" the architecture reflects a close relationship between ancient Maya and 20th Century ornamentation and its progression. During WW II the gym was used by the Navy. It was renovated in 1947.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 8, take the 163 south through Balboa Park. Take the Interstate 5 South exit, then exit on Park Boulevard. Stay on Park Boulevard until you come to President's Way, then turn left on President's Way.  You will now be in the park. Go to the first stop sign and turn left. The gym is on your left, just beyond the Hall of Champions.

The Municipal Gymnasium is accessible by bus via SDMTS route 7.
