Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 25, 2014
Don't forget about the Ocean Beach Recreation Center's Annual Halloween Carnival. This year's carnival will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Entrance wrist bands are good for all activities and games. This year's Carnival will have a Costume Contest for all age groups (trophies for the most creative, scariest, funniest, and prettiest), obstacle course and slide inflatable, carnival-style games, face painter, balloon artist, and a concession stand. Bring the entire family for a SpooktacularTime. Bring your own bag to collect all your prizes and treats.

Looking for Men's Softball Teams
Ocean Beach has one of the longest running Men's 16” “Chicago Style” Softball Leagues in San Diego. Do you have a team of guys who would like to play? Multiple seasons throughout the year. All Games are played on Tuesday nights at Bob Kenny Field (corner of Ebers and Newport) in Ocean Beach. If you are interested, please call the Recreation Center at 619-531-1527 for more information.
We now offer Pickleball three days per week in the gym on Mondays & Wednesdays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, ping-pong and racquetball, in addition it's one of the fastest growing sports in America. It may be a silly name, but it's a serious sport! It is fast paced and easy to learn, great exercise and lots of fun! Come see what the excitement is all about! It is a great sport for active adults and anyone else who likes to have a good time!

Set up your account and browse classes now. Winter 2015 classes will be viewable on October 25, 2014, and will become available for registration on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
Returning Customers (who have previously registered for classes online)
Click the My Account button. Enter your login (email address) and password.
If you’ve forgotten your password, click My Account, then click the small “Forgotten?” link. Enter the email address you used when you created the account, and the system will send you a temporary password via email. Log in with the temporary password and the system will prompt you for your “Current password” - which means the temporary password in this case - and a new password of your choice. Be sure to click Save!
First Time Online Customers
Click the Create Account*** button. Fill out the New Account Request form completely for the primary responsible person, usually a parent or head of household, including all required fields, (Birth date, Gender, Email Address, etc.) and click Submit (or Submit & Add Family Member to add your other family members). In a short time, check your email for a confirmation message with a special first-time activation link. You will not be able to use your new account until you've used this special link! Note that it's possible this email will go to your “spam” folder, so check carefully. To avoid duplication, be sure to let others in your household know you've set up the account.
***Important!: If you are registering a child for an activity, please use your own information, not your child's, when first completing the New Account Request form. Once you have filled it out for yourself, click “Submit,” or “Submit & Add Family Member” to add others such as your spouse and children. You can also easily add children later after you've created and confirmed the account. Be sure to check your email for a confirmation message with a special first-time activation link. The Ocean Beach Recreation Center offers Youth/Adult Self Defense classes, Gymnastics/Tumbling Classes, Ballet Classes, Youth City Dance Classes, Youth Soccer Leagues, Youth Flag-Football Leagues, as well as Adult Pottery/Sculpture Classes, Adult Coed Dodgeball Leagues, Adult Coed Kickball Leagues, Women’s Softball Leagues, & Men’s 16" Softball Leagues. History of the Center
With dedication and grand opening 1946, the center is one of the oldest in the City. The center has been hosting the annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival since 1948.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 8 West take the Sunset Cliffs Blvd. exit to Santa Monica and turn left. The center is on the left, across from the elementary school.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 35 & 923.
