Free Play Volleyball

We now offer volleyball once a week in the gym on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m. All skill levels are invited! Come see what the excitement is all about! It is a great sport for active adults and anyone else who likes to have a good time!

Lunch with Santa

Admission for children is free, each adult is $2.00.

Serra Mesa is proud to provide lunch, crafts, and a special visit from Santa for all the kids of the community. Expect dance performances, exciting crafts, and a whole lot more! Please make sure to arrive by 11:00 a.m. for seating.

Toys 4 Tots Distribution

If you were signed up for the Toys 4 Tots event at the Serra Mesa Recreation Center you may pick up your toys between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on December 19th, 2015. If you are unable to retrieve your toys for any reason please contact staff.

Winter Youth Basketball

Registration for Youth Basketball runs until the start of the New Year. Please make sure to get your registrations in as soon as possible! Serra Mesa has three age groups available:

Pee Wee (5 to 8 years): Practices on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Games are on Friday nights starting at 5:00 p.m.

10 & Under (9 to 10 years): Practices Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Games are on Saturday mornings starting at 9:00 a.m.

12 & Under (11 to 12 years): Practices Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Games are on Saturday mornings starting at 9:00 a.m.

Sign up for an account, find a class or activity, and register!

If you are registering a child for an activity, please do not use the child's information when completing a New Account. Adding family members after successfully creating an account can be completed later.

Please note: An email which includes a confirmation message will be sent after you sign up a new primary account. It is possible the email may go to your junk or spam folder.

The email will include a special first-time activation link. You will not be able to use your new account until you've used this special link!

The BookNook program is a "take a book, leave a book" gathering place at your favorite recreation center. Share your favorite literature and stories with others.

History of the Center

Most of the Serra Mesa Park & Recreation Center was built in 1964 with additional phases added in later years. The center is divided into two levels: the lower level consist of the sports field and a small picnic area and the upper level contains the building, picnic area and tot lot.


Directions and Bus Route

Map this location

From Interstate 15, exit Aero Drive West and turn left on Ruffin Road. Turn right on Village Glen Drive, the center is on the right, approximately a half mile down the road.

From Interstate 805, exit on Murray Ridge East and follow Murray Ridge Road through the light. Turn left on Glencolum and look for the center ahead.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 926/927 & 928.
