Toys for Tots Registration
Serra Mesa Recreation Center is happy to host another year of Toys for Tots! To register, please visit the recreation center during our normal hours of operation with an ID and the last six digits of each child social security number. All toys will be distributed on December 20th as part of our Lunch with Santa event.
Winter Basketball League
Registration takes place from November 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014. A $10 late fee will be applied to any registration taken after December 31, 2014. When registering, please bring some form of age verification and exact payment. Practice times for ages 5 to 7 (Pee Wee League) is on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Practice times for ages 8 to 10 (10u) and 11 to 12 (12u) are on Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Pee Wee games are typically held on Fridays and the older divisions on Saturdays. Age Divisions:
5 to 7 years of age (Pee Wee)
8 to 10 years of age (10u)
11 to 12 years of age (12u)
Cost: $25 for season
($10 late fee)

Lunch with Santa/ Toys for Tots Distribution Event
'Tis the season for giving! Join us at Serra Mesa Recreation Center for our Annual Lunch with Santa Event and experience the feeling for yourselves! The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20th, with food served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children eat free and adults can participate for just $2.00. Sit back and enjoy performances from local dance groups, decorate a craft, and even get a caricatures of your kids drawn before they get their chance to share their greatest wish with Santa! Lunch with Santa activities will wrap up at 2:00 p.m. to allow for Toys 4 Tots distribution, which runs from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.
The Serra Mesa Recreation Center offers Youth/Adult Self Defense classes, Youth City Dance Classes, Youth Basketball Leagues, Youth Soccer Leagues, Youth Flag-Football Leagues, as well as Craft Classes, Cooking Classes, Polynesian Dance Classes, and Saturday Studio Space for local artists. History of the Center
Most of the Serra Mesa Park & Recreation Center was built in 1964 with additional phases added in later years. The center is divided into two levels: the lower level consist of the sports field and a small picnic area and the upper level contains the building, picnic area and tot lot.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 15, exit Aero Drive West and turn left on Ruffin Road. Turn right on Village Glen Drive, the center is on the right, approximately a half mile down the road.
From Interstate 805, exit on Murray Ridge East and follow Murray Ridge Road through the light. Turn left on Glencolum and look for the center ahead.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 926/927 & 928.
