Youth Basketball registration for Winter 2007 begins November 15.  Fee is $20 and proof of age is required. Boys and girls ages 4 to 16 years of age may participate.
 
Halloween "Safe Night Out" at Silver Wing.  Join us Halloween night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for free games and candy.
 
Toys For Tots Registration through November 10th. Free toys for children ages 0 to 14 (with Social Security Cards).  Must meet income guidelines.
 
Snow Day Winter Wonderland at Montgomery Waller Recreation Center.  December 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Games, food, information booths, entertainment, free snow for the children to play in!!!
 
Turkey Bowl 2007.  Join us November 21 and have the chance to win a free turkey for Thanksgiving.  Open to kids ages 8 to 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

History of the Center

On August 15, 1972 the Southern Area Committee approved plans for the Silver Wing site to include a multipurpose field, a tot lot area, a basketball court, and picnic areas. Construction began January 1974. Both the building and the park was dedicated on May 8, 1976. The Otay Mesa Recreation Council was officially recognized on March 2, 1977. The park sign was dedicated April 18, 1987.  We are not the park with the big silver wing momunment.  That park is called Montgomery-Waller Community Park.
