Donation Opportunities

There are a variety of ways that YOU can make a difference in your community. Why not volunteer for a park cleanup? Become a member of the nonprofit San Diego Friends of Parks and Recreation Foundation? Or maybe you would like to make a tax-deductible donation toward a park or recreational program in your neighborhood? No gift is too small. You can make a general donation toward the park system or provide a designated contribution. Listed below are just some of the areas where your donation is needed:

•	General Donation for City Parks	You can make a general donation to the city's park system which will be used for a variety of programs and general park purposes.
•	Adopt A Park	Earmark your contribution toward a specific park or recreational program such as arts and crafts, ceramics, athletics and other programs offered by the city's park department.
•	Aquatic Program Scholarships	Funds go toward the fee to participate in citywide aquatic programs including, "Learn to Swim," Water Polo, Adapted Aquatics, and Swim Teams. Scholarships will be given to adults and children.
•	Children's Playgrounds	Your donation will help repair and build playgrounds at our local parks.
•	Habitat Restoration	Contributions help purchase equipment and plants for ongoing habitat restoration in open space parks.
•	Senior Services	Donations go specifically to fund senior citizen programs and activities at local senior/recreation centers.
•	Summer/Winter Day Camps	Funds go toward transportation needs to assure that children participating in local recreation day camps have a unique camp experience.
•	Tiny Tot Program	Your gift will help to purchase books, puzzles and other interactive learning materials for a stimulating and fun-filled children's developmental program.
•	Therapeutic Recreation Services Program	Your donation can help fund year-round Therapeutic Recreation Services programs and activities such as the Junior Wheelchair Camp, and Recovery Games.
