A plan amendment has been requested by MetroPlan, LLC, on behalf of Palomar Pomerado Health. The proposed amendment consists of changing the land use designation from Religious Facility to General Institution on a 4.4-acre parcel located east of Black Mountain Road and south of State Route 56. An existing building, formerly used for religious purposes, will be renovated and converted into a wellness center that will offer health education/counseling and related services. Typical uses include child birth classes, diabetic counseling or in-staff training. In addition, a new, 40,000-square foot building will be constructed to accommodate doctors’ offices and an outpatient urgent care facility.
