Alex Bethke
Alex Bethke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of San Diego, and a Master of Arts degree in History/Public History from Arizona State University.
Mr. Bethke is a Historian/Cultural Resource Manager for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest, and has extensive expertise in historic preservation and cultural resources. He serves as the Consulting Historian for the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, New Jersey and has been instrumental in evaluating the hotel for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. He began his career as a Preservation Assistant for Architect Milford Wayne Donaldson.
His diverse professional experiences and training in historic preservation, public history, architectural history, and cultural resources has given him the opportunity to advise public officials, boards, commissions, architects, and military and civilian officials. Alex has also produced numerous technical reports and made insightful recommendations utilizing his vast knowledge and training in historic preservation planning.
