Maria E. Curry
Ms. Curry is an architectural engineer from Mexico City with a Masters Degree in Restoration of Monuments from the University of Mexico. She is a Cornell University PhD candidate in the area of Historic Preservation Planning. She has taught at the University of Mexico School of Architecture and conducted research in the Environmental and Urban Studies Department at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Tijuana. She became a grassroots activist after the 1985 Mexico City earthquake and currently is a consultant for grassroots groups, public officials and businessmen in the California-Baja California region addressing historic preservation, environmental, and urban planning issues. Maria was a board member of the San Diego Save Our Heritage Organization, vice president of Museum Services at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum and currently is vice president of the SS Catalina Preservation Association. Additionally, Maria is a board member of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum and represents the ICOMOS Mexican Chapter in Baja California. |
