Special Events Planning Office

The Special Events Office is responsible for permitting special events as mandated by the City of San Diego Municipal Code 22.0207. Special events consist of parades, running events, street fairs, block parties, stadium events, Sports Arena events or concerts. The Special Events Office reviews permit applications, assists in the development of event routes and coordinates with local promoters or event organizers. The office also works with the commercial film industry to monitor film production on public property and to provide police and traffic control services on production locations.
