Traffic Investigations Unit

Accident Investigations Bureau performs the following functions:

  • Formally investigates all fatal collisions
  • Formally investigates all felony related traffic crimes (felony hit & run, felony DUI, felony evading)
  • Investigates all misdemeanor traffic crimes such as hit & run, false impersonation, throwing rocks at vehicles, etc)
  • Assists the Homicide Unit on crimes involving motor vehicles.
  • Responds to serious injury collisions involving police equipment.
