Motors Unit

Motorcycle officers are assigned to all areas of the City to enforce traffic laws and assist patrol handling radio calls. Their main objective is to reduce traffic collisions. This is accomplished through traffic enforcement, recommending traffic control improvements, and educational programs directed at drivers and pedestrians. Motor officers handle numerous citizen requests for service each month regarding traffic problems. Motor officers also work with the US Secret Service to provide escort and protection services for dignitaries during their travel in the City of San Diego.
