Each division has its own procedures for citizen ride alongs. Complete the on-line Ride Along Request Form and your division will contact you to schedule a ride along in your neighborhood.
Department volunteers from the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) will arrange to check on your house while you are away. Each division has its own group of RSVP's. The SDPD In Your Neighborhood section of the web site has information about scheduling vacation house checks within each division.
The Department has a program called You Are Not Alone (YANA). Volunteers from the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) will arrange to check on elderly or disabled persons on a regular basis. You can request extra patrol in your neighborhood using the on-line Citizen Request Form. The form asks for information about the location and nature of your problem, when it occurs, who is involved and whether you'd like to be contacted directly. Once submitted, the request will be forwarded to the appropriate Division for follow up.

Fingerprinting services are no longer available at San Diego Police facilities. Beginning July 1, 2005 the California Department of Justice requires that all applicant fingerprint submissions be transmitted electronically. Live Scan digital submissions provide the quickest way to submit and process fingerprint records. Download this form, then take it to any of the Live Scan sites listed on the California Attorney General's web site.
