Candidate Assistance Mentoring Program (CAMP)
The Candidate Assistance Mentoring Program (CAMP) is designed to prepare potential recruits emotionally, physically and mentally to handle the rigors of the police academy. CAMPís physical training was shaped by input from the academyís core trainer. Along with exercising candidates, the officers induce stress by offering up aggressive means of motivation. The candidates are also introduced to formation and command training. CAMP not only allows candidates to prepare for the academy, but creates more opportunities for the background detectives to assess and evaluate potential recruits. An indirect consequence of CAMP is the camaraderie that develops among the candidates and even between the recruiting officers and the recruits. CAMP is offered every Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2pm. The location will be at Miramar College (10440 Black Mountain Rd. San Diego, CA 92126) obstacle course by the tennis courts. If you have further questions regarding CAMP please contact us at (619)531-2148.
Starting December 16th, 2014, C.A.M.P. will be held at the San Diego Police Department training facility located on Spruance RD and Kincaid RD.
