Police Recruit Test Schedule
The City of San Diego Police Recruit Written Test, Physical Ability Test and Pre-Investigative Questionnaire (P.I.Q.) will be given on the following dates, at the times and locations specified. Space for the Written Test is limited so entrance to this exam is on a first come, first served basis. Once all seating is filled, persons will be turned away. You should arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the scheduled start time indicated below.
Candidates must be able to attend both days in the test block (Written Test AND Physical Ability Test/ P.I.Q.) Therefore, when selecting a test date, make sure to allow for testing on both days as you cannot continue in the process until you successfully complete both tests.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, test dates may need to be changed. Prior to attending a test session, you should verify the test date by viewing the Employment Opportunity Police Recruit document (PDF); or contact the City of San Diego Testing Office at (619) 236-6358 (Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
All out-of-state candidates please contact a recruiter prior to making arrangements to taking the written examination.

Additional Information
- Allow approximately 3 hours for the application and examination process.
- Bring a driver's license or other official identification with your picture and signature. Know your Social Security Number.
- Parking is available at your expense. Note: Once the test begins, no one may leave to pay additional parking fees.
- If you have previously passed the current Written Test #T2719 AND have expired from the Police Recruit Eligible List, call (619) 236-6358 regarding a waiver for this test.
