Most City Facilities to be Closed in Observance of Memorial Day on May. 27, Trash Service to be One Day Later SAN DIEGO - All City of San Diego offices and most City facilities will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Refuse and recyclables normally picked up May 27 will be collected one day later due to observance of the holiday. Trash will be collected one day later for the remainder of the week. (Mondays refuse will be picked up Tuesday, etc., and Fridays refuse will be collected Saturday). Collection of refuse and recyclables will return to its normal schedule beginning Monday, June 3. The Miramar Landfill will be open on the holiday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Metered parking will not be enforced on May 27, but all other parking restrictions in the City will remain in effect and subject to enforcement, especially restricted parking zones in the beach areas, and those under the jurisdiction of the Port of San Diego. The Central Library and all other branch libraries will be closed. Book drops will remain open at all library locations. Torrey Pines and Balboa Municipal golf courses will be open.
