City to Discuss Economic Prosperity at Second Quarterly Forum
Community input sought to create collaborative solutions
SAN DIEGO - How can we create a diverse and vibrant economy, provide equitable
access to education and ensure affordable housing for all San Diegans?
These questions and more will be discussed at a quarterly forum entitled
"Economic Prosperity for All: How Do We Get There?"
Citizens are encouraged to participate at the June
26 forum being held by the City's Planning Department.
The event will take place from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Balboa Park Club
Santa Fe Room (near the Aerospace Museum) at Balboa Park.
"This forum is an opportunity for community members to continue
being involved as we update our City's General Plan," said Program
Manager Coleen Clementson. "Economic prosperity matters to all San
Diegans and we want to include citizens as we work through these issues."
Panelists at the June 26 forum will include Councilmember Scott Peters;
Donald Cohen, Director of the Center on Policy Initiatives; Steve Erie,
Director for the Urban Studies and Planning Program at UCSD; and Mike
Madigan, Senior Vice President of Urban Services Group for Project Design
Consultants.
The City's first quarterly forum took place in March. Additional forums
are scheduled for September 25 and December 10, at the same time and location.
For more information about each forum, call the General Plan Hotline at
