Most City Offices and Facilities to be Closed Nov. 11, Veterans' Day Changes Scheduled for Refuse Pickup and Parking Meter Enforcement
Local Assistance Center Remains Open to Help Fire Victims

SAN DIEGO, CA - All City of San Diego offices and most City facilities will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans' Day. An exception will be the San Diego Local Assistance Center in the Scripps Ranch Recreation Center. The Center will remain open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to continue uninterrupted assistance for the victims of fires in the San Diego region.

Due to the holiday, refuse and recyclables will be picked up one day later than normal each day of the week except Monday. For example, items normally collected Tuesday, Veterans Day, will be picked up Wednesday, and Friday's refuse will be collected Saturday. The collection schedule will return to normal Monday, Nov. 17. Miramar Landfill will be open on Veterans Day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Metered parking, all timed parking zones, residential permit parking areas, and "No Parking" street-sweeping signs will not be enforced on Veterans Day.

The Central Library and all branch libraries will be closed. Book drops will remain open at all library locations.

Torrey Pines, Balboa, and Mission Bay Municipal golf courses will be open. Call local recreation centers and pools for their holiday schedules. For information on the operating hours of the City's lakes, call (619) 465-3474.
