Regional Public Meeting Regarding Interstate 5/State Route 56 Freeway Connectors ProjectSAN DIEGO - A regional public meeting has been scheduled to present information and solicit public input on a possible future Interstate 5/State Route 56 Freeway Connectors project. The project is studying possible modifications of the access between State Route 56 and Interstate 5 (the north section of the interchange). This initial planning and preliminary engineering study phase is funded by a combination of federal and City of San Diego matching funds. The estimate on the cost of the project is $137 million dollars. This regional public meeting is an effort to inform and solicit input from interested commuters and residents. The communities of Del Mar Mesa, Torrey Hills, Carmel Valley, and Torrey Pines have representatives on the Steering Committee for the project. Residents of these communities and others are encouraged to attend this informational public meeting. Representatives from the City of San Diego, Engineering and Capital Projects Department, the California Department of Transportation, and the project consultants will attend the meeting. The meeting is set for Thursday, June 10, 2004 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel located at 11915 El Camino Real. # # # |
